About Line Finder

Line Finder Services LLC was founded in January 2020 by Jason McNaughton, following his 26-year career in the utility locating industry. With a vision to improve accuracy, efficiency, and support in underground utility projects, Jason established Linefinder Services as a trusted utility consulting firm committed to quality and results.


Since our founding, we’ve partnered with clients across the Southeast, including ongoing work with SEGRA, where we provide quality control, utility locate troubleshooting, and auditing services. Over the past 18 months, we’ve also been called upon to support damage investigations, oversee special projects, and offer project management solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.


What sets us apart is our deep industry experience, attention to detail, and collaborative approach. Whether it’s field-level troubleshooting or high-level coordination, we bring clarity to complex utility challenges.

About Jason McNaughton

 

Jason McNaughton founded Linefinder Services after a successful 26-year career with USIC. Throughout his career, Jason worked with over 30 different utilities across seven states. He managed a district of more than 100 technicians and six supervisors, overseeing a $10 million budget.


The utilities Jason has worked with include: AT&T, Duke Energy, Comcast, Charter Communications, AEP, NIPSCO, CenturyLink (now Lumen), SEGRA, Frontier, Vectren, Charleston Water and Sewer, FPL, KCPL, Verizon, and numerous telecommunications and power cooperatives.

Jason has held various roles, including utility locator, supervisor, and district manager. He developed a strong background in project management, particularly in fiber optic builds, and has comprehensive knowledge of the locate process from start to finish.


Currently, Jason also serves as a Utility Coordinator for Infrastructure Consulting and Engineering. In this role, he works directly with utility companies to identify conflicts, minimize or assist with relocations, and navigate the encroachment permit process.

Jason served on the SC811 Board of Directors from 2017 to 2019 and is currently serving his second term as Chairperson of the Midlands Utility Coordinating Committee.


He earned his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2003.
